BASIC FUNERAL As members of the National Association of Funeral Directors we abide by the Code of Practice agreed in conjunction with the Office of Fair Trading. A section of the Code stipulates the provision of a BASIC FUNERAL to a specification compiled with and approved by the Office of Fair Trading. We can provide a funeral to the agreed specification as follows: (a) The provision of a Funeral Director’s Services. (b) Attending to all the necessary arrangements. (c) The provision of the necessary staff. (d) The provision of a coffin suitable for the purpose of the Cremation or Burial. (e) The transfer of the deceased from the place of death (at least ten running miles allowed) during normal working hours. (f) Care of the deceased. (g) The provision of a Hearse to the nearest Crematorium or Cemetery. (h) Burial may be specified as opposed to/instead of Cremation where this is locally available. This specification excludes the following services: (1) The provision of a Limousine. (2) Service in a Church or Chapel prior to the Funeral. (3) Procession from private residence prior to Church or Cremation Service. (4) Out of hours removal of deceased from place of death. (5) Collection and administration of donations. (6) Provision of an oversize coffin. (7) Extra bearers (more than four). (8) Making Funeral arrangements out of office hours. (9) Removals and journeys over 20 miles radius. |
