I know this may seem strange, but I am the gent who first found Andrew collapsed in the early hours. I only did so because our tent had blown down and we were awake. I have felt compelled since to try to make some contact with you just to let you know that when I found him, although I could still feel his warmth I had a strong feeling that he had already passed and was at great peace…we tried so hard to bring him back, myself, the young lady Amy and the young man Darryl, as did the paramedics, but all through our efforts my strong, strong feeling was that he was already in peace. This sense has never left me and I have since felt somehow compelled to trace you to let you know. The people at Mother Ivey’s tell me Andrew would have been a grandfather soon. I share the grief of your loss, and that night will stay with me forever but I do want you both to know, as the person closest in his final minutes, your husband, your father, is at peace and will be with you all as the next generation arrives.
My heartfelt condolences to you both. Please, if you can, take some solace from my words.
Paul

Dear Lavinia and Oliver. I was the lady who came to the caravan to find you the night that Andrew passed away. You are often in my thoughts and I hope that you gave Andrew a wonderful send off with glorious music filling the church as you wanted. I wonder if your little grandson is born now Lavinia -what a comfort he will be to you all and I’m sure you will make sure he hears all about his grandad too. My heart is with you as you all come to terms with your loss. Sending much love from Yorkshire. Elizabeth x
