  1. Too soon to happen. Tony was such a lovely man. I worked with him over some contentious planning issues in my ward over the past few years. He was always patient, pragmatic and very knowledgable. He will be missed.

    Cllr. Cherry Brooks

  6. I was so sorry to hear the news about Tony. He was a very well-liked and very well-respected colleague and we will all feel his loss greatly. He always had time to help colleagues and was the “go-to” for lots of us whenever we needed some help on a thorny issue. His knowledge of our local area and his profession was exemplary. He was brave and confident and always happy to deal with the difficult stuff. Personally, he provided me with support and, on occasion, when I needed it, challenge. He was a good man and I wish you, his family, some peace in what I know will be a very painful time. Best wishes,

    Bridget Downton
  7. Such a sad time for your family. Rest in peace Tony x

  9. I am sad to hear of the passing of Tony. He was as others have said a very honorable man. It was a pleasure to talk with Tony over the many planning issues where he acted on behalf of the council and I on behalf of applicants. We did not always agree but you could always talk to Tony and he would be very fair. Bless you Tony.

  10. I have worked with Tony for many years and it does not seem possible he is no longer with us. He was a lovely man and will be missed by friends, collegues and most of all his family. Please accept my deepest sympathy at this difficult time.

    Alison Turnock
  11. Loving thoughts and happy childhood memories of my dear cousin Tony.
Taken from his family far too soon.

Jennie Shields, husband Jim and son Peter.
