Art was a good friend and will be missed. Our thoughts are with Sue and all the family at this sad time.
To Sue, family, friends and the special Witchampton cricketing fraternity. Sorry we cannot be with you on Friday, we will be thinking of you. My thoughts go back to the late 70s early 80s, playing alongside Arthur and enjoying some great cricket before making our way back to the club. Sue and Arthur were the most welcoming hosts and for me, it became my second home, with such a warm and friendly greeting from Sue and a mischievous smile from Arthur, always suggesting he knew something but thought it best to keep it to himself. Such a special time and special people, it is 40 years since I moved back to Devon, but it seems like yesterday. Take care Sue and rest easy Arthur, say hi to Peter from the Vicar xx
Sorry I’m unable to attend but virus has hit me as hard as Arthur could smack the ball . When his eye was in Arthur was so capable of changing a game. Regrettably this is one game he couldn’t change. Unforgettable memories of after match sessions with hosts Arthur and Sue at the Social Club . Innings over but a lasting memory. God bless Arthur.
So many great memories of Arthur whether it was on the football field, on the cricket pitch and at the Club. Yet another character from Witchampton gone but memories will live on. Our condolences to all Arthur’s family from all at Witchampton Cricket and Football Clubs.
Arthur you will always be remembered with love. Sending love to Sue and all the family at this sad time. David and Arthur please look after each other. With love from Karen x
