  3. Bill will be sorely missed. For many years I had the privilege of representing James Smith Funeral Directors as a coopted member of what was the General Operations Committee and laterly Community Services Commitee of Swanage Town Council. Bill was always very supportive of my role and of any matters that I brought forward. I will be forever thankful to him for that support.

  5. Bill’s death came as a shock to me. I always found him very supportive. We studied the same subjects at Bournemouth College of Technology. I knew him through the Swanage Railway, Swanage Town Council and the Swanage Town Twinning Association.

  6. Bill was a lifelong friend in all understanding of the word since we studied together at the Bournemouth College of Technology. I am sad I did not share more time with him since . My life and the life of all who knew him is the lesser for his passing. May he rest in peace.

  7. A sad loss to Swanage and the Swanage Railway communities. He gave valuable support to those that needed it and an understanding listening ear to many. He will be greatly missed. He was in the right place at the right time for us on the Swanage during the dark days of Operation Milestone and the rebuilding of the SR in those early days. Thank you Bill, RIP.

  9. We will always remember Bill as a caring, dedicated, inspirational and highly principled man who worked tirelessly in supporting the Swanage community he lived in. Also, a good friend over many years, the highpoint for us of which was him being a brilliant best man at our wedding. Rest In Peace Bill.
