  1. What a lovely lady. Her humour and wisdom over the years will always be treasured. There are so many wonderful memories from over half a century and so much to smile about.

  2. What wonderful neighbours Chris, John and family were when we lived at Summerhill, Boundary Drive. It was a pleasure to know Chris and our thoughts are with all the family at this difficult time.

  5. Over the years it was always a pleasure to meet Chris, always a friendly face and smile with a little glint in her eye, offering a friendly piece of advise or just a kind word.
Chris enriched so many lives and as she leaves us with lovely memories, she won’t be forgotten.
Thinking of all of you her loving family, may Chris rest in peace. Love Martin, Helen, Henry and Oliver. Xxx

  6. So many happy memories of the venerable Mrs P.
As a boy, she always believed me over poor “Thumb – Benjy-bum”. And she let me watch TV.
As a young man, she became less sure that it was always Nick / Ben / Billy / Wally’s fault, shooting the look that showed she knew but softened by her giggled “Well, you know…”
Always busy but always time to pause and listen with genuine care, her wise and kind influence on all stages of my life is deeply felt. My love and virtual support to Tim, Jo, (breaking with our brotherly tradition) Wally and families. May she look down as I raise a glass of sherry to her – thank you Mrs P.

  8. So glad to have been in contact with Chris. She was my father’s first cousin. John and I loved calling round to see her in Wimborne, where she would always insist on providing us with a lovely lunch. Such a lively lady ,always interesting to talk to . She had a generosity of spirit.
    With love from
    Eliza from Torquay, Devon.

  9. Fun times at High Hanger when we were young, Chris got me through my English Lit O level by quoting Macbeth every time I walked in the house, which was often.
Always there to inspire and support so many.
Love and best wishes to all the family,
Bernadette, David, Ben & Emily Newman xxx

  13. What a beautiful service today. Dearest Tim, Ben, Joanne and to your wonderful families, we send all our love to the best Auntie in the world, who will always be with us, and who also made the best Bovril sandwiches in the world. Thank you as well Chris for sending that man out to help me aged 10 to swim back to shore off Sandbanks, boy that current was strong! And sorry for peeing in the swimming pool at the club (Jo snitched on me). Our love to you all, we will always remember Chris as being so caring, joyful and full of life. May she rest in peace xxxx

  14. I was a young bridesmaid of 7 to Chris and John so have known Chris a few years now! And the family of course. Our two families spent some good times together when we were young. Chris was always bright, smiley and cheerful. We met Sometimes in Wimborne and chatted. She was always interested to know how I and my daughters were getting on, remembering their names.
My mother, Norah Moore, now 100, would like to be remembered to the family. My parents had been friends with John, through the Methodist Church, since before their marriage.
Our very best wishes go the Chris’ family; Tim, Jo, Ben and their families.

    Jacqui Vine and Norah Moore
  15. To the memory of Chris – Always such a happy smiling person, ready to listen, help and laugh with all her friends. And not forgetting the ups and downs of school runs – 6 in the car and no seat belts in those days!
