  1. Dearest Claire,

I don’t know what I’ll do now you are not by my side. I miss you and I miss training to you about the tennis but I’m watching it thinking of you and remembering the good times and one day we’ll be able to talk about it together again. Xxx

  4. Dear Claire
I’m not sure how you summarise 34 years of friendship…
A true friend is someone who is always there, no matter if it’s 6 months or a year between catch ups. I especially loved our Christmas get togethers. You were so thoughtful
    and kind.
I will miss your spontaneous messages about the tennis which would make me curious & start following it!
Sleep Well Claire – sending you lots of love xxx

  5. Remembering the quiet, unassuming girl I met aged 13 and all the years of friendship since.

I will miss the regular tennis updates and will always remember your excitement and enthusiasm for the big matches. Will also miss sharing the milestones of my daughters’ journeys through education with you as you always took an interest in their progress – especially Lily now she’s following in your footsteps as a primary school teacher. Thank you for all the support and encouragement you have given and thank you for being a loyal friend for almost 35 years.

    Rest in peace xx

  6. Dear Claire,
You were one of the kindest, loyal people I have ever had the pleasure to know. I remember all the fun times we had in our German lessons at school and the trip we took together to Kiel in Germany. Both so young and a little nervous, but leaned on each other for support.
You sent the most beautiful messages of support when my daughter was diagnosed with and subsequently passed away from cancer and it deeply saddens me that you had to endure the same horrible diagnosis. You were too young.. Sleep tight Claire. I shall always remember you and was blessed to have known you. With Love from Chan Xxx

  7. Claire,

Not seen you for many years now but it sounds like you have been a star throughout. A great loss to everyone.

    Rest in peace.

  9. Dearest and truest friend Claire,. I miss you and I’m so grateful for all your kindness. Thank you for always being such an encourager. I am listening to our song ‘somewhere down the road’ and remembering you. I am making sure I channel your loving care as a teacher into my lessons and classroom. Rest in peace.

  10. Dear Claire,

I have only just heard the sad news of your passing. I was lucky enough to work with you at St Teresa’s in Effingham and my daughter Bella was lucky enough to have you as a teacher. You were always so kind and caring and gentle but made a positive impact on all who met you.
Your passion for teaching was matched with your passion for tennis, particularly Roger Federer who you mad about!
I wish you had told me you were leaving when I helped you to the car with all of your boxes it was after you had returned so bravely after such a long battle. I would definitely have taken your email and given you a bigger hug.
I hope you are resting peacefully.
I send my love to your wonderful parents who were with you throughout.

    Lisa Curling
