So sad to hear that David has passed away. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.
I will always remember David as one of the really good guys at Stonyhurst. Not just a good biology teacher but also an enthusiastic but gentle games master, who was liked by all.
I remember his generosity in buying team members great pub dinners on the way back to school after an away match. He was a kind and gentle giant of a man, who I owe a lot for making my time at Stonyhurst bearable.
Thankyou for yesterdays Requiem Mass for David.
I loved the Order of Service booklet. David on the front cover in his musto’s, on a fast yacht, at the helm – obviously in charge!
David was such a good generous man. David coached many children and teens in athletics; spending so much time thinking and doing things for them and others (and not enough for himself). Poole Athletic Club owe him such a lot, he will be much missed.
RIP David, you deserve a very long rest.
Thank you David for all you did for so many others over all those years in all those different places. Was always good fun officiating together in the last 10 or so years. May you rest in peace – although I can imagine you already making your mark where you are now. God bless.
On behalf of the children and staff at Oakdale Junior School I would like to express our sadness to hear of David’s passing. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. We shall continue to be grateful for how David blessed our school over the past few years. His committment in volunteering to hear children read throughout health challenges was an inspiration to us. We are thankful for his humility, his reliability and focus. David genuinely cared about outcomes for young people. His contribution has made a positive impact upon the life chances of so many children. He gave without seeking any recognition or affirmation for himself. David will be so missed by us at Oakdale. Thank you David! God bless you!
