To write a tribute to Eileen is to remember the special qualities she had and the way in which they influenced the lives of those she came in contact with.
For me she was a true friend and a wise adviser. For over twenty years we travelled the world together and our trips always included so much fun and laughter. It gave us a store of memories which we enjoyed reminiscing over on many occasions.
We played cards, majhong, rummykub , jigsaws and bowling, but I could never persuade her to try dancing. Lunches with friends were happy occasions and trips to the theatre were always a pleasure.
I miss Eileen tremendously, but I was indeed lucky to have had her in my life.
Many happy memories over the course of my entire life,a very special lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
God bless you Eileen.
Eileen, what a gentle, kind, wise, humble soul she was. We are indeed the lucky ones to have had her in our lives. Her footsteps will never be filled. She will be very missed by all who knew her. x
You will be greatly missed by your friends at Colehill WI. Thank you for being such a wonderful lady. Rest in peace dear lady. Love the song “Come on Eileen” listening to it on Alexa! Toola rye aye !!!
So many of happy memories of Eileen . She always had a smile , good sense of humour with a tinkle in her eye . She will be missed .
I only knew her the last few years of her life when she moved into the flat next door. She was a lovely warm hearted lady who came in for coffee whenever she had a spare morning in her very busy life. Even so I miss her very much, as friends are special the older one gets! I understand she planned her own funeral service many years ago and it was a beautiful occasion.
God bless you, Eileen.
It was a great privilege to work alongside Eileen at the Communicable Disease Unit of the Dorset Health Authority. She was right at the heart of the Unit, always professional, very calm in a crisis, always supportive of colleagues. I will never forget her kindness when my husband was very ill. Eileen was an inspiration and a very dear and special friend.
