For as long as I can remember, it was always a treat to visit Eileen and be surrounded by excited happy dogs. As the years went by, I got bigger while the dogs got smaller so I wasn’t knocked off my feet at the encounters. I marveled at Eileen’s rapport with animals, our family’s own Doctor Dolittle. She always seemed to be in good spirits ready to catch you up with the goings on around the village. Even though we were living in America her Christmas card would often include a photo or clipping or notes about something she thought would interest us. She will be greatly missed.
