George Patrick Willey

messages of condolence

Write a message and once it has been approved it will appear below.

  1. George was a constant part of the Swanage and Purbeck community for so many years. His individual and charismatic character will be greatly missed by so many. He has left an empty space that will be difficult or even impossible to fill.

    Mo Andrews
  2. My wife, Heather Lawman, was an active member of George’s swimming club in the 1950’s and had a great affection for him as an instructor mentor and friend. George never forgot her and the time they were together in Swanage swimming club even 50 years later when we met his greeting was warm and genuine. He, and commentary for the Carnival over so many years, will be missed more than most will realise

  3. I enjoyed reading George’s Tilly-Whim articles in the Advertiser. I have got many fond memories of him from when I first met him at Belvedere about forty years ago to seeing him at the Swanage Town Twinning events at Swanage and Rudesheim.
