My condolences to all the family.
I know she will be greatly missed by you all,as she was a very pleasant and friendly natured lady.
Gerty was my neighbour and lived just down the road from where I live. She was the Grandmother of my dearly missed friend Simon who sadly passed away a few years ago .
Unfortunately I never actually made it to visit Her in the home that she moved to.(not that I didn’t think about it!)
I have been told she was very happy there and that she died peacefully in her sleep.understandably she made lots of friends and will be dearly missed.
We were mere bystanders in Corfe this morning but so touched by the turnout for Gertie on such a lovely autumn day that we wished we’d known her – the respect and appreciation for all the years of service to the local community was there for all to see, Purbeck’s equivalent of the pomp and circumstance elsewhere.
Thank you for your kind message Johnathan, thank you for coming to the service, a nice few people in church. I was very pleased with the service. I would like to thank all who attended.
My thanks to Albert Marsh, also Bell ringers, Rev Ian Jackson, Rev Anne Bond, the Choir, & organist. Mum will be sadly missed, she had a big impression on all our lives. We will have happy memories of her. She had a long & happy life.
