I first met Rex at the QE Hospital in Birmingham, where I was a very junior member of the Clinical Chemistry department. Rex took me under his wing and kindly gave me the benefit of his experience. Later he and Sue asked me to baby sit for Martin which I was quite happy to do with my girl friend Anna, who quite by chance trained as a nurse with Kay his sister.
A very nice man who will be sadly missed. Our deepest condolences and love to Sue and their sons. RIP Rex, it was a privilege to know you.
