1. Remembering a good friend who shared happy times spent in France with Swanage French Circle over so many years.The hospitality which he and his lovely wife offered to our group was always much appreciated. We shall miss him in our U3A French Conversation Group too.Ruth.

4. Memories of John sharing his enthusiasm for steam railways at French Conversation.

5. Andrew and I met John through my mother, Dot and the French circle We have very happy memories of games of boules and croquet on his lawn at Skerries on the 14th July. Mum loved dancing to the accordion and the hospitality was generally appreciated. For several years a small group including John, Irene Greenway and my mum, used to meet for lunch about once a week at various local pubs etc. and Mum and Irene really valued John’s friendship, knowledge and love of all things French. We will miss him.
