Passed away suddenly, but peacefully at Dorchester Hospital on 13th January, aged 74 years. Much loved wife of Sid, adored Mum of Julie and Karen, ‘Granny’ to Krista and Charlotte, Elsa and Ines, she will be sadly missed by all her family and many friends.
New Government guidelines advise those attending funerals to take a rapid lateral flow device (LFD) test to manage your risk, even if you don’t have symptoms.
Joy will be sadly missed by everyone at Blandford Bowling Club.
Joy was such a lovely lady, always ready to have a chat with me or listen to my troubles now and again. Always ready to help me with some bowling advice. Although I didn’t see her that often I will truly miss her.
My condolences go to Sid and her family.

Will miss Joy terribly. Always so kind, thoughtful, understanding and supportive. My love and thoughts are with Sid and all the family.
Joy inspired everyone she met whether it was on the bowls green or in church or just as a friend. Her ability to teach the game of bowls to children was magical and she produced junior champion bowlers from her efforts.
Everyone who ever met her will be so sad at her passing.
She is now in Heaven as she hoped she would be.
Joy was so unselfish in her giving. She gave so much to so many people especially the young bowlers, who will miss her coaching and encouragement. A great asset to the bowls club, who are going to miss her, and everything she contributed. Our thoughts are with Sid and all the family.

A good kind and thoughtful person who gave so much of herself to others, both young and old. I will treasure our friendship always.
Like others I have so many wonderful memories of the effect Joy had on everyone she came in contact with. All ages and many outcomes – usually successful. Love and respect. Much missed.
I will miss Joy so much. Such lovely memories of many happy times playing with or against Joy. Since 2017 , I was privileged to work with Joy and Sid in helping to set up Dorset Youth Bowls Academy. Her enthusiasm, support, friendship , inspiration and coaching skills will be missed by me and so many others. A real Unsung Hero whose legacy will live on through the Academy. My thoughts are with Sid and the family at this sad time.

RIP Joy!
You were always available for others to turn to, within the church or bowl community.
We re-joined BBC last summer and it is a big regret that we didn’t do it sooner, so as to have benefited from your expertise on the rinks and your warm and wonderful friendship.
Our sincere condolences to Sid and family.
