Mark was one of the good ones, taken far too soon. A great guy to work with and chat to about all sorts, I will be miss him and his sense of humour a lot at the engine shed.
My sympathies to his boys who I know he loved and was very proud.
Goodbye mate.
Mark will be sorely missed by all at Swanage. It was always a pleasure to be greeted by him in the morning and he’d offer great company and humour throughout the day. It was an honour to drive 31806 carrying a wreath in his memory.
Our condolences from 71B.
What a brilliant bloke… met Mark in Nov 2014 when in I went to work at Northey Technologies. We got on well from the start, always had a good laugh, often at other peoples expense 🤪 Very clever and knowledgeable about his work and on mechanical/engineering processes outside of that. After most of us had left NT for various reasons we stayed in contact, occasionally meeting up for a meal and a drink or two.. 😏
He liked taking the Mickey out of my obsession for DeWalt tools and when I bought a yellow and black dustpan set
for work area… 🤣
I will miss Mark immensely and always but will remember the good times 😉
Adios, amigo
Fantastic gentlemen – kind, caring and knew how to smile even on the toughest of days. Thanks for everything you have done to help me, friends and the SR – rest easy, Mark.
Top bloke and great humour, Condolences go out to your family
Will miss you mate
My thoughts are with you all at this time. Mark was a really nice guy to meet and chat with. He will be missed by everyone at Swanage Railway.
