  8. I am so happy I got to know Martyn. He was a fixture of my childhood, either cheering at our rugby games in a way that made sure you heard him, even if we were at the other end of the pitch. Or taking the mick out of us after a night out asking ‘how many blokes we pulled’ as he was cooking the fry up. He was always a joy to be around.
Love and thoughts to the Hogg family, he will be very proud of all of you.

    Chris Amhoff

  16. Martyn was the kindest, funniest man and quite cheeky, well, actually very cheeky! but he was cheeky in such a way he could get away with it; he made u belly laugh, tears would be streaming.

Martyn had unique sayings which I’m sure I remember Tom started a little list of at one point as we loved them so much and didn’t want to forget them! He would randomly burst out into song “oh what would the matter be, 3 old ladies stuck in the lavatory!”.

Martyn was very proud of his children and more recently his grandchildren and his lovely wife Angela. Martyn was a real family man.

I am grateful to have had the pleasure of knowing Martyn. Fond memories and Martyn’s saying will live on with me forever 💕
The last thing Martyn said to me in hospital was “that’s the spirit” and then he said nun night 🙏💕

My thoughts are with Angela, Lucy, George and Elle xxx

  26. Martyn was, at his core, a devoted family man. His love for his family was evident in everything he did. His stories about them were always filled with pride, joy, and laughter. He had a way of making life’s moments—both big and small—feel like an adventure, always finding fun in the everyday. That energy was contagious, drawing people to him and brightening any room he entered.

One of the great things about Martyn was his ability to make you feel at ease. No matter how long it had been since you last spoke, he had a way of picking up right where you left off, with that same warmth and joy. He knew how to make people laugh, how to make you feel important in his presence, and how to appreciate the simple pleasures of life.

We will miss you being around Martyn and that special smile and laughter you always had.

    Nick and Denise Baldwin

  33. I would like to express my sincere best wishes to Martyn’s family. I worked alongside Martyn for many years in my role as chairman of Compass Point in Sandbanks. Martyn was a lovely man, very helpful in getting work done around Compass Point in a very relaxed manner. He was a tremendous asset to Castleford Management. In all our years of working today I don’t remember us having a cross word.

From all the owners of Compass point but essentially from myself, God bless Martyn, rest in peace.

Who filled the room with a chuckle and spread bonhomie with largesse. His love for lovely Angela and his equally lovely family was so obvious to all.
