We are so very sad that we have to say a Final Goodbye to Mary. She was a member of our local u3a Board Games Group and although we have only known her for a few short years we have all grown extremely fond of her. There is an expression that some people enter a room and it immediately lights up …… Mary was that person.

Mary was a joy to be with. There are numerous adjectives to describe her – friendly, popular, thoughtful, fun, interesting, kind, generous, loyal, caring and so on. We particularly admired her grit, determination and independence in dealing with her everyday health issues which we know rarely stopped her doing the things she enjoyed.

Mary was unique – our Games Group will be a much duller place without her and it has been an absolute privilege to have known her. When the noon clock strikes on Tuesdays when we are together, we will always remember it was time for Mary to take her medication, and we will think of her with a smile and great fondness.

We know she adored her family members and our thoughts and best wishes are with all of them as they prepare to say Goodbye to a Very Special Person.
