  2. Michael was a happy, funfilled friend who on summer days we’d spend hours down the beach with throughout my childhood. He was endearing and always cheerful, I loved our BBQs and evenings out with Micheal, Helen, Jess and Adam. What a beautiful and welcoming family and I remember Michael so dearly for those times. Thank you for being a wonderful person, a brilliant friend to me and my family, rest in peace and with love and hugs.

  3. Mike was always a pleasure to work with and, more importantly, to lunch with. When I returned to BAE on secondment in 2016, after 10 years away, I was welcomed back onto the lunch table as if no time had passed. It was a pleasure knowing you Mike.

  4. Mike was an absolute gentleman. With a great love of his family and friends, all things nature and life in general. Having only known him for a short time, his stories and advice will remain with me forever. The world will be a better place because of him. He will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him. My thoughts and best wishes are with his family at this very sad time.

  5. I knew Mike when he had hair…!!! He worked with me in the Wiring Department at Thorn EMI in Wells Somerset, during his time on the Youth Training Scheme. Then later our paths crossed again working on the same project at BAE Systems, Christchurch. One defining factor of Mike was that he was always first in the queue for the Buffet lunch at customer meetings, well done Mike. He was a real gent and I am pleased to have known him. My thoughts and best wishes are with you Helen and your family, be strong and continue the legacy that Mike has left behind.

  6. When I relocated to the Christchurch office in 2007 Mike was one of the first people I met and worked with. Given our joint love of walking and nature and the fact that I was new to the area Mike suggested some stunning walks and was always giving me ideas for future walks. One of my favourites was on the Isle of Wight on a hot blue sky day in the summer- around 14 to 15 miles – and it was superb, despite the many blisters! Mike will continue to be in my thoughts while out walking all around Dorset, he really was a truly remarkable man.

  10. I had the pleasure of working with Mike over the past five year and also occasionally socialising with him when I was in Christchurch (including in his amazing garden!). Always welcoming and friendly, he was a true gentleman. He will be sorely! RIP
