Michael Ernest Pauley
Michael aged 88 years passed away peacefully on Friday 13th January 2023. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
Michael’s request was for no formal funeral ceremony and the family are not requesting donations. However please raise a glass for Mike in his memory at your next opportunity and celebrate a life well led and enjoyed.
Mike, my Father-in-law of over 33 years. How lucky was I to have you in my life for all those treasured years. You always had a zest for life, fully engaged and interested in everything, especially all things to do with your family right through to the very end. I will miss seeing you relaxing in the sunshine on the balcony overlooking the wonderful views of Poole, I will miss your humour, I will miss your presence at the family dinner table, I will miss having to make that decision on whether I should pick up a bottle of Paddy’s or Bushmills when shopping for your extra treats, but most of all I will miss YOU. The great memories you have left behind will always bring a smile to my face. A long life well lived, and now it’s time to rest. Love from Vicki xxxx
Dear Mike
Remembering you with much fondness. Such a great sense of humour and a zest for life. You always had an interesting story to tell as Mel and I shared many happy hours with you Marian and our families.
Remembering the wonderful holiday we had in Florida. Such precious memories will stay with me forever.
Hopefully you and Mel will meet up and raise a glass or two wherever you both are.
Rest peacefully dear friend.
Love Sue xxx
Mike was the best Father in Law I could have wished to have. He was always the centre of things and the rock the family had. I used to love chatting with him about history, politics and everything that was going on in the world. I had the privilege to read one of his (unpublished) books and he was a great writer. Chris is going to miss putting the worlds to right with his Grandad but I’m sure he’ll take forward the mantle of challenging people’s opinion. I’m going to miss Mike’s sense of humour, his excellent speeches and he’s cheekiness. You had a long life and made all our lives better for knowing you. Rest in peace. All my love Siobhan xxx
if there is one thing i can say about my grandad it’s that he always put the needs and happiness of others over his own.
i shall miss talking to him and the things we discussed.
may he live on in our memories.
Fond memories of walks through Upton Park and trips to the beach as a kid, and the birthdays and Christmases more recently. Rest easy Grandad – hope there’s a dram or three of Bushmills wherever you are x

I grew up knowing Mike & Marion, shopping in their shop & visiting the Post office on errands.
You were so much a part of our life growing up, living as we did just across the road from the shop! Going to school with the boys & Jane. Being involved very briefly with the football club.
You always had time to stop for a chat no matter how busy you were a fact I know mum appreciated when dad passed away.
RIP
