Muriel Dorothy Gover
1947 - 2022
Loved mother of Lizzy and Jonathan, wife of David and granny of Holly, William, James and Anna.
While it may be very sad to realize that dear Muriel is no longer with us, we have the assurance from Scripture that she is in a ‘far better’ place, without pain or fear, and for her, it surely is ‘the better part’ – in the very Presence of the Saviour whom she loved and served. But our hearts and prayers are with dear David, Lizzy, Jonathan and their families at this time, and will continue in prayerful consolation.
I first met dear Muriel back in 1968 when on my first visit to England, along with my parents and brother. She was always very kind and loving to us, and my father called her ‘a peach.’ Then when I moved from India to England in 1984, she and David were like family to us, along with Jonathan & Lizzy, and their hospitality will always be remembered. She warmly welcomed my dear wife Grace into ‘the family,’ who preceded Muriel into God’s presence exactly 7 years ago today. Together, they rejoice, waiting for that time when all of us will be together in His Divine Presence, forever to go no more out.
For dear Muriel, “she hath done what she could” (Mark 14:8) and the Lord will reward her according to the desire of her heart. For now, she is “satisfied with favour, and full with the blessing of the Lord.” (Deut. 33:23) Therefore, as no longer in the body, so along with David & her beloved family, we “rise up and call her blessed.” Prov. 31:28. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” Psalm 116:15.
Dear Muriel has been a very special friend whom we met when we came to Wimborne to the Gospel Hall 30 years ago. Her radiant smile welcomed us all those years ago. Her love for the Lord Jesus, her Saviour was so evident in the ups and downs of life. “God is our refuge, a very present help in trouble…” was her experience through life. We miss Muriel, but know she is with her Lord, which is far better. We pray for David, Lizzy, Jonathan and the grandchildren.
She was a good friend and made us really welcome when we moved into Dorset.
Especially remember the trip we hired a minibus for a summer adventure,
