Oliver Owen Pittock

1982 - 2021

***UPDATE*** Oli was loved by many people, but we have sadly had to limit numbers to the memorial (please see below the list of confirmed attendees.) Dorset Cruises (https://dorsetcruises.co.uk/) have very kindly said that anyone else that would like to raise a glass to celebrate Oli's life are welcome on The Dorset Queen on Poole Quay at 4:30pm. We will also be saying a few words and scattering a small amount of his ashes in the sea at this time.

Memorial attendees:
Adam Shutler, Ali Oliver, Becca Franklin, Ben Arlow, Colin Palmer, Dan Hardy, Dan Wastall, Den Shutler, Helen Wesley, Howard Bowles, Jo Maddox, John Kennedy, Jon Morgan, Katie Travers, Kerry Goodall, Kevin Walters, Liz Lockton, Marilyn & Jim, Mark Nutland, Max Perry, Max Shutler, Neil Green, Olli Goodall, Paul Matson, Phil Pickering, Philippa Tarry, Rhea Menon, Rob Franklin, Rob Gray, Robbie & Marica Pilkington, Scott Elford, Sniffler, Steve Jones, Stuart Rawlinson, Sue & Pat Maguire, Tim Tyrell

When Oli/Ollie/Olly was told he was terminally ill, he told Charlie and Amy that he didn't want a big fuss or funeral service with his coffin there. To adhere to his wishes the immediate family will be interring his ashes on 7th October, after this time you are welcome to visit him (and his mum who he will be buried alongside) at Poole & Wimborne Woodland Burial Ground in Colehill.

We will however commemorate his life at a memorial service on 13th October, starting at 12pm, in the Harbour View Suite at the RNLI college in Poole. This will be followed by a buffet and an opportunity to raise a glass and swap stories ;-). Please note that space is limited so anyone who isn't on the attendance list cannot be accommodated. We also ask if anyone attending would kindly do a lateral flow test beforehand. There isn't any parking at the RNLI so please park in one of the multi-story car parks nearby.

Oli was great at giving flowers to Charlie and his mum, but wasn't a massive fan of them himself, so we ask for donations to be given to The Forest Holme Hospice Charity who were just wonderful in their care for Oli (and his mum previously,) please see link below. We understand that some may like to give flowers at the memorial service, if so these should be sent to: 55 Grove Road, Wimborne BH21 1BN.

  1. Olly was one of my favourite people in the world. He laughed at all my unfunny jokes and visited me all over the place. Coming home will not be the same without my mate being there and I only wish that this current situation was better and I could have come and said goodbye properly.

  2. So very sorry to hear the news that Oli had passed away. It was a pleasure working with him and he was always professional and most importantly a great friend who will be greatly missed by all and taken far too soon.

  3. Ollie was a good professional and one of the nicest people I have ever met. Life can be very unfair.

  4. It’s very hard to take that such a nice, good humoured gentleman (in the truest sense of the word) has gone at so young an age. Even the guys from Cornwall, who only met you an a few occasions, recognised what a top bloke you were Ollie and have expressed real sadness at your passing. We will miss you buddy.

  5. Honestly can’t believe it, Not been In touch regularly as of late, but one of my closets mates at school. We had some great times and got into plenty of ‘mischief’ together. A top lad gone far far too soon.

  9. Olly was such a kind hearted, funny and genuine person. I remember him walking into knee deep bog on Dartmoor and he just laughed with us all and moved on took it all in his stride! That was typical Olly. Nothing seemed to faze him and he always took on life with good humour. So sad he was taken from us too soon. My heart goes out to all his friends and family.

  11. So so sorry to hear this terrible news. I didn’t know Olly well. But was lucky enough to spend time with him on a holiday in 2008 that I still remember and still laugh about 13 years later. He was an incredible character, amazingly funny…and just the nicest guy. I wish I’d seen more of him since. I can’t believe he’s gone so young, sending all love to the family and everyone affected by such a tragic loss x
