Rodger was more than a parishioner – he was a dear friend and Zahra and I enjoyed his substantial help and support, especially in our early years at West Moors from 2003 onwards. Getting the vicarage garden under control, discussing plants, then fishing together on several memorable occasions when I could steal away, sometimes with Ern. Janet, also a wonderful friend and part of our team in running the parish. We lost contact for a few years as moves away parted us. It was a privilege to visit him at and renew our friendship over these past precious weeks at The Grange Nursing Home. Rest in peace Rodger.

Rest in peace Rodger, you will always be remembered, not least your Dahlias at Gate Cottage, Horsenden for my parents. Then again helping them in Broadstone and of course us at Old Timbers.
