  1. I only knew Ron for a short time, but he was a lovely kind gentleman, always happy, and loved to chat about his past days in the park where he lived, and his days in the forces in bhurma. So very sad for all of your loss, may dad rest in peace, back together again with his beloved pat. X

  2. I was so sorry to hear the news of Ron’s passing and deeply saddened. I think of Ron and Pat as great friends I was able to meet through you, Ashley and Sam, which I have much to thank you both for. I always enjoyed my chats with Ron, listening to his memories of a long and interesting life, I’ll miss those times we sat together. He was a great Father and Grandad, always caring and generous to those he loved. I will treasure all the gifts, some quirky but always useful.
I will think of Ron now with Pat, as a lovely couple who I will miss so much XX

  3. The example dad left, to the end, was determination. He was very appreciative of the care he received in these last few months and family came to mean everything to him.
I would like to express my appreciation to the people of Winterbourne Whitechurch for their friendliness and warmth towards Dad and Pat since they moved there about 5 years ago and their kindness and support in the last few months. It’s a credit to the village that they quickly felt welcome and even during the last year of shielding, I believe it gave them great comfort to know that there was such a supportive community around them. Dad very much appreciated their messages of condolence, when he lost Pat recently.
I would also like to thank the carers who attended dad in the last few months. Their patience, affection and kindness made all the difference to a challenging time. The ethos and dedication of the ambulance team (who began to be familiar with us!) and NHS staff were also impressive and genuine. It all goes to show that it is often in the most difficult times that the richest of human kindness is seen.
