Was devastated to hear this very sad news. Rosie’s nickname for me was ‘Stephanovich’ and her most recent words of wisdom to me (as there were many) will be with me forever ….
“In the meantime, keep on doing all you are doing so wonderfully. You are changing lives, Steph! How does that feel? What a truly amazing and worthwhile thing to be doing, and worth turning yourself inside out to achieve”
Rosie was encouraging me to just keep going with my mission to ‘change the world’ …. but of course I had to start somewhere. Amongst the ‘rather’ short career as a diabetic screener, T1 Fest 17 was born, a music festival launched last year following Ruby Tuesday’s diagnosis with type 1 diabetes. Raising awareness for diabetes, we raised £1500 for three very worth while charities…I know she’d be proud. Rosie supported me then and will continue to inspire me with every breath I take. I will miss her terribly 💜
With love to David & family at this very sad time
Steph x
To David and family, our deep sympathies for the loss of Rosie. A woman of grace and writing. From the team at Deep South Media.
I was saddened to hear of Rosie’s death at such a young age.
I worked closely with Rosie & Dave E when the Salisbury Journal & The Avon Advertiser were merged in 1997 under Southern Newspapers and I became the General Manager.
I also worked with Rosie when she was editor of The View magazine group when I was a consultant on the management team.
Whilst we did not agree on many occasions Rosie’s editorial professionalism shone through and after many discussions regarding commercial decisions against editorial needs the meetings were always friendly and amicable.
My heart goes out to Dave and I will remember the good times we had at Salisbury Newspapers and the great news stories we ran, sometimes against great adversity!!
Nick Farr, ex General Manager Salisbury Newspapers
