Very sorry to hear of your loss and am thinking of you all at this time.
Was so sorry to hear about the loss of Roy. We’re thinking of the entire Downton family and friends at this time and send all our love.
Uncle Roy was one of the nicest blokes I’ve ever known and that’s a view I’ve held since I was a young kid visiting with my sister Penny Sue and our parents on one of the trips to see our cousins in sunny Swanage (it always seemed sunnier in Swanage). I got to walk the dog occasionally and a trip to Swanage was always something to look forward to.
Aunty Yvonne and Uncle Roy have always stood out in my mind as one of the lovliest couples and a sort of role model for this young man as he was growing up. I didn’t get to see them for some years after I went away to university then ended up living overseas but I visited with my family in 2015 (which feels like yesterday) and that’s helped keep fresh the happy memories of early years. I kept in touch since with occasional letters and email.
I lost my wife, Cherie, in January after nearly 46 years together and discovered what it means to grieve in a way I hadn’t know was possible before, so my thoughts are very much with Yvonne at this time.
With love and best regards to all the family and with nothing but the fondest memories of my Uncle Roy,
love, Paul
My fondest love and thoughts will be with you all today. So sorry not to be there. Lovely memories of Uncle Roy.
