  9. Thank you Roy for the wonderful memories over the years, treated me like a grand daughter teaching me to fish, light a fire and fire a gun, all the important things in life. Lots of happy and funny memories you will be sadly missed by us all especially during our family card games! Rest in peace Roy, love Jackie, Adrian and family xxx

  10. Grandad,
Thank you for the most amazing memories of kindness, love and laughter. Growing up and spending weekends with you were always fun-filled, gave us a taste for adventure and what some might say an unhealthy obsession with fire. I cherish the moments we had dearly, even when I couldn’t beat you at Newmarket!
I love you, miss you and promise to always make you proud.

  11. My Magic Grandad

There was never a dull moment with Grandad growing up. He made us bows and arrows for the woods, tought us to shoot apples off the fence with the air rifle, made a go cart and send us down the road (with no brakes), so it’s safe to say there was always an element of danger with Grandad. He even made collecting moss and mushrooms exciting.

The highlight of any weekend would be the bonfire… With ‘magic water’ to get it going and all of his deodorant cans that he’d saved up just for us to throw on the fire. I can only imagine how excited he was, anytime a deodorant or varnish can ran out to put away for us to explode. But yet we were totally safe. Safe and loved.

Grandad made every roast dinner fun, still teaching us card tricks into our thirties. I think there was a few tricks he didn’t teach us as well with some of the games he won… My humour wouldn’t be where it is today without my Grandad, he always had the ability to make anyone around him laugh without even trying.

You will be missed, forever loved and cherished. We were so lucky to have had you in our lives and thank you for all the memories. The world is a more boring place without you.
