1. Uncle Steve was always the trouble maker, encouraging my sister and myself to do things we were not ment to be doing. He would always get found out and got told off for it.. He was always the joker and we always had a laugh with him. Well miss him and his silly little ways.

You were a pretty big part of my childhood Steve.. fishing hythe pier and what was then called ‘the reclaimed land’, now Hythe Marina, clambering out on the old dilapidated sand pumping jetties on the end, or strapping garden forks to the crossbars of our pushbikes and riding miles to Lepe beach to dig for ragworms for bait (and have a sneaky ciggy and a cider from the cafe). We got up to mischief, but nothing bad… I’m really going to miss catching up with you next year when I’m planning to visit hythe for the first time in 40 years. It was wonderful to catch up via Facebook and see the life you’d lived… wholesome, hearty and full of love for your family and friends. I will always think of you now when I play comfortably numb on my piano… you were taken too soon my old childhood buddy. God Bless old mate and see you in the afterlife

6. I want to celebrate Steve’s life the way he celebrated mine. Steve was always like a second father to me, always lending a hand in times of need. The world will forever need more people like the man he was.

7. Thnak you for your wise advice to an older runner Steve, I have taken it all onboard. Not a long life but you certainly added value to 5k Pub Runners in no small way and we missed you yesterday when we met up, terribly in fact. “Gone from our Midst but for a little while”, Rest in Peace Steve.

15. A kinder more genuine person you would struggle to meet. From when we first met at Noadswood to when our paths crossed again at Esso you were always sincere, honest with a great sense of humor. Until we meet again, God bless, you were one if the best.

The first time I met my uncle Steve, was in the hospital….he had had a bike accident..i was only 10 when i flew across from South Africa and met him all strapped up with leg in a cast and arms up… always the daring soul…. he leaves us with a great hole, but to be adventured… will miss cross continent chats and it was always such good times when popping across to the uk… i wish the family well and sending lots of strength… love Fay
