Shocked & saddened to hear of Stuart’s passing. A “Stur” lad he was a couple of years older than me & at Primary School & we “knocked about” together”. He came to a few of my early birthday parties & I have a photo somewhere of Stuart in a white shirt & bow tie. Not sure he would be impressed by that if I had told him though!
As we got older we had different interests & Stuart being a bit older admittedly we did not have much to do with each other.
However fast forward to relatively more recent times & when The Churchill Arms reopened I would come back from football & he would invariably be sat on a stool with an ale & we would have a quick chat. With social media he would always wish me a happy birthday & I likewise & comment & post so felt like I was a bit more in touch.
I am not claiming to be a great friend as particularly moving away I did not see a lot of him but as I said he was a quiet, gentle “Stur Boy” & am really sad about Stuart’s passing. Rest in peace, Stu.
Sincere condolences to Mrs Baker, Fiona, & friends.
Deepest condolences on behalf of Hazel, Graham & Jayne Barratt (Burton Lux):
We all have very fond memories of lovely Stuart, either seeing him in the car coming to & fro, or out walking with his beloved brother, Robert. He always had a cheerful smile and a kind word for us. We will miss seeing him. Until we all meet again one day, our heartfelt love to the whole family. Very best wishes, the Barratt family. xxxxx
Our thoughts and wishes go out to Ann, John, Rob and Fiona.
Whilst the pain of losing a Son and Brother may be silently kept, we’re sure the memories of Stuart will help you through the coming days and years.
Much love from Steve and Lyn xxxx
