Val was a very special sister-in-law to me, she was always so thoughtful and had a heart of gold.

She had a great sense of humour and loved to make fun of Paul, when we all chatted together, as only a sister can do.

Every year she loved to see my garden, Paul would give her many virtual tours so she could see what had been planted and the vibrant colours.

Val you will be greatly missed, but never forgotten…you will always be in my heart, especially when I walk my garden. Love Ruth xx

I first met Val, as two young mums at the local toddler group, with our girls Sarah and Melissa. It was a friendship that was to last a lifetime, between the girls and ourselves. In the early years, it was lovely to have a friend to discuss the various trials and tribulations of young family life. The girls went on to do the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and Sarah was Melissa’s bridesmaid; giving Val and myself many happy memories together. It is with great sadness, that I learned of Val’s passing, and I will very much miss our yearly correspondence.
Sending all my love and thoughts to the family at this sad time.

My earliest memories of Val are the many fun times I spent at her house having play dates with Sarah. She was always so warm and welcoming and I always felt so at home there. Sarah and I remained close friends throughout school and university and a time that will always be special was sharing Sarah’s hen do with her and Val. Val was so proud of Sarah that day, which was lovely to see. Over the years, our paths have crossed at Sarah’s family occasions and I could always chat to Val as if I saw her yesterday.
Val, you will be missed and will always be in my thoughts.
