Independent Funeral Directors

We know that for some families a traditional service at a Church, crematorium or burial ground doesn’t feel like the right way to say goodbye. Our ceremony rooms offer another choice, and are often preferred by those looking for a more private setting or a space they can personalise to a greater degree.

Facilities and options

We can provide any type of funeral according to your preferences, whether that’s a traditional service, led by a minister of faith, or an informal gathering of friends and family sharing memories of a loved one over tea and biscuits.

We can provide any type of funeral according to your preferences, whether that’s a traditional service, led by a minister of faith, or an informal gathering of friends and family sharing memories of a loved one over tea and biscuits.

Everything from the music to the positioning of the chairs can be tailored to the requests of the person who has passed, or the loved one looking after the arrangements. We can guide you through the choices, and, once we understand what you’re looking for, enact those wishes and bring all the elements together.

Because we never host more than two services a day – one in the morning and one in the afternoon – there is no worry about delays from other funerals or the pressure of overrunning, as can be an issue in other settings.

We can arrange for:

  • A minister of faith or secular funeral celebrant to host and officiate
  • Orders of service
  • Flowers
  • Music
  • A screen for visual tributes
  • Live streaming for those unable to attend in person
  • Refreshments, from snacks to a full buffet

Holding a wake with us

Whatever type of service you choose, we can also offer the attendees a wake afterwards, if that’s something you’d like.

Following the service, the coffin will be removed and taken to the place of committal, and the ceremony room rearranged, providing a welcoming space for people to gather, talk and take refreshments.

This option foregoes the need to coordinate booking another venue elsewhere and means those in attendance won’t have to travel from one place to another.

Working with trusted local businesses, including florists and caterers, or any provider of your choice, we can make arrangements that are right for your event, whatever your budget. You can also be assured of a calm, respectful environment.

Affordability

Our ceremony rooms provide flexibility and convenience, and greater affordability too. Without the need for many of the elements you’d have at a full traditional funeral, such as hearses or funeral cars, there is a reduction in overall costs of up to £1000.

Services and prices

Funeral services in one of our ceremony rooms include:

  • Provision of the Funeral Director’s services
  • Attending to all of the necessary arrangements
  • Provision for you to select a coffin of your choice
  • Transfer of the deceased from the place of death within a twenty mile radius during normal office hours
  • Care of the deceased prior to the funeral
  • The full use of our Service Chapel for the funeral
  • Full surround sound music system available
  • Large screen available for Visual Tributes
  • Provision to transport the coffin in a private ambulance or estate motorcar to the nearest crematorium following the service in our Private Service Chapel
