We offer a comprehensive range of funeral packages priced fairly on the high-quality services we provide. Our bespoke Funeral Packages are also available with Optional Extras to help you create a funeral service that is unique to the person who has passed away.

When comparing us to others, please note we do not ask for any deposits in advance when arranging a funeral (except when purchasing a direct unattended cremation).

All funeral directors are legally required to publish a Standardised Price List for a standardised set of products and services. This is to help you compare prices between different funeral directors.

The Attended Funeral from our Standardised Price List includes the minimal products and services that allow for a dignified funeral. The Optional Extras allow you to create a funeral service that is unique to the person who has passed away. When comparing our prices, you may find that our Funeral Packages offer better value, as some of the Optional Extras are already included

Simple Funeral Package


Our 'Simple' funeral package in Dorset offers essential elements for a respectable funeral service without unnecessary frills. Recognising that not everyone desires an elaborate or conventional funeral, we aim to provide a package that fulfils the fundamentals while maintaining quality. This option is suitable for both burial and cremation, and the family can help carry the coffin since only two pallbearers are included. However, additional pallbearers can be added to the funeral expenses if desired. Please be aware that a minimum of four pallbearers will be provided for a burial.

Classic Funeral Package


Our 'Classic' funeral package in Dorset is tailored for those who prefer a more customary funeral service. This option grants bereaved families full access to our premises, including the transfer of the deceased from the place of death and complete care until the funeral. Professional fees, use of our chapels, cortege, including a limousine to a local address, and provision of four pallbearers to carry the coffin in a traditional manner are all covered by the funeral costs. Our Chapels of Rest are available for paying your respects, at any time of day or night, upon appointment.

Douch Exclusive


The 'Douch Exclusive' funeral package in Dorset covers the cost of funeral director services, including arrangements for the deceased such as transfer and care. The package offers a range of coffins starting from £295, which will be added to the overall funeral costs. The funeral service will take place in one of our our onsite ceremony rooms (please note that the cost of the Ferndown Ceremony Room is higher compared to our other ceremony rooms), and it is assumed that the family and mourners will convene there. Once the service is over, we will transport the coffin using an appropriate vehicle for an unattended committal without any family or mourners present.

This package does not require family attendance, and you can conveniently schedule a memorial service at a time that suits you. However, before making a decision, consider our Douch 'Exclusive' Funeral Package. This unique offering allows for a personalised, intimate funeral service in one of our ceremony rooms before the direct cremation. As local funeral directors, we are dedicated to providing top-quality service, no matter the cost. Even without attendance, we pledge to fulfill your wishes and give your loved one the dignified funeral they deserve. Importantly, please be aware that the final invoice for the Unattended package must be settled before the funeral takes place

Our comprehensive Unattended Direct Cremation service in Dorset includes:

  1. Respectful transfer of the deceased person from the place of death to our premises (within a 20-mile radius) during regular office hours (an additional £160 is applicable for transfers outside normal hours).
  2. Personal care for the deceased person until the Direct Cremation.
  3. Supply of a dignified, simple coffin designed specifically for Direct Cremation.
  4. Handling of all necessary arrangements and paperwork required for Direct Cremation.
  5. Safe transport of the coffin to the crematorium in an appropriate vehicle.
  6. Provision of necessary staff at the crematorium to assist with moving the coffin on a bier.

Please note the following specifics about our Unattended Direct Cremation service in Dorset:

  • Full payment of Funeral Directors Fees and Disbursements must be made prior to the day of the funeral, either by credit/debit card, cash, or cheque. Please allow 3 clear working days for cheque clearance before the day of the funeral.
  • The Unattended Direct Cremation is a service without a funeral ceremony and is performed without mourners or family in attendance. The deceased will be transported to the closest crematorium at a date and time that is convenient for the Funeral Director.
  • During the funeral arrangement process, your Funeral Director will provide all necessary information regarding Disbursements, including Cremation and Doctor’s Fees.
  • The service price is based on the assumption that the cremated remains will be scattered in the Gardens of Remembrance at the crematorium or collected directly by the client within 28 days of the funeral service. Any alternate arrangements may incur additional costs.

But the journey of remembrance doesn’t end here. We recognise the importance of personal, intimate spaces to say your goodbyes. That’s why we offer beautifully-appointed private Ceremony Rooms for personalised memorial services. This flexible space can be tailored to create a truly bespoke commemoration that resonates with the life lived. Situated in the picturesque Isle of Purbeck, with breathtaking views of Corfe Castle, Kingston Country Courtyard provides an ideal setting for personalised farewells. We can offer a range of choices to honour and celebrate the life of your loved one. Equipped with suitable audio-visual facilities for your personalised tributes, Kingston Country Courtyard accommodates gatherings of up to 140 attendees. After the service, the venue seamlessly transforms to host a wake, where you can continue to reflect and connect with friends and family.

 

Kingston Country Courtyard Exclusive Price Includes:

(Disbursements include unattended cremation, Doctor’s fees & Minister or Celebrant’s fee. Example price is based on a service with 50 people in attendance)

  • The personal attention of the Funeral Director throughout the whole proceedings
  • Provision of a veneered oak coffin (upgrades are available)
  • Transfer of the deceased from place of death within a 20 mile radius during normal office hours
  • Preparation and care of the deceased prior to the funeral, family and friends are welcome to visit in our Chapel of Rest as many times as you would like by prior appointment
  • A memoriam page on our website which can be personalised with a photo gallery and where friends and relatives can make donations and leave messages of condolence
  • Supplying 50 quality colour printed orders of service
  • Catering for 50 people*
  • Providing bearers and Funeral Director throughout the funeral service
  • Coordinating and preparing any photo/video and music tributes for the service
  • The use of our hearse to convey your loved one from our private Chapel of Rest or a home address to Kingston Country Courtyard for the funeral service
  • Provision of one limousine, seating up to six mourners, to convey the family to Kingston Country Courtyard for the funeral service, where it will wait for up to four hours before returning the family home or to another local address
  • Receiving and caring for floral tributes before the funeral, including transporting them to the service location. The package includes a £100 contribution towards your floral tributes.
  • The full use of the 16th Century Barn including the use of the restaurant or garden whilst the Barn is reconfigured for refreshments
  • Collecting donations on behalf of your chosen charity, forwarding them to the charity and sending you a list of donors

Optional Extras

We are also available to arrange overnight accommodation, transportation of guests to and from airports, train stations, and ferry terminals. The Kingston Country Courtyard offers on-site accommodation at preferential rates. Contact us for further details and pricing.

We can also arrange additional floral tributes and pedestals as well as announcements in the local and national press.

For burials, as interment fees vary greatly by location, we will inform you of any additional costs once we know this location.

NB: If a horse drawn or other specialist hearse is requested, we will also provide our motor hearse as outlined above, to convey the floral tributes and to accompany the cortege.

Children's Funerals

Our services are provided free of charge for children who have not reached the age of 16 years, excluding disbursements and any additional expenses.

Paying for the Funeral

An invoice for the funeral and disbursements will be sent to you, your solicitor, bank or other designated person, approximately one week after.
