We offer a comprehensive range of funeral packages to help you create a dignified funeral service that uniquely represents the personality and preferences of the person who has passed away. Our staff will use their extensive knowledge to help you create a personalised funeral plan and to guide you through this difficult time.

There are two main components to the costs of funeral arrangements:

1. The Funeral Directors Services

The cost of providing our funeral package, the coffin of your choice and any further funeral services that you may choose.

2. Disbursements

Disbursements are third party fees such as Crematorium charges, Doctor’s and Minister’s fees, etc.

There may also be additional expenses for products and services such as:

  • Death announcements
  • Floral tributes
  • Catering
  • Printed Orders of Services

The total cost of a funeral package may vary greatly depending upon the services that you require and the choices you make. We will explain fully all of the options available to you, and the costs associated with each. We will always provide a detailed, written estimate of the funeral costs.

3. Funeral Service Payment

Please note we do not require a deposit before the funeral service*

As long-established funeral directors, we work on trust and understanding with our clients. An invoice (dated the day of the funeral) will be sent to the person arranging the funeral approximately one week after the funeral has taken place. Payment in full should be made within 28 days of the invoice.

*Excludes the Direct and Exclusive packages.

 

Simple Funeral - Build your own

SIMPLE FUNERAL - BUILD YOUR OWN

This ‘Simple’ funeral package includes the simple essentials required for a dignified funeral service. The Simple Funeral option can be used for both Burial or Cremation. Personalise the funeral arrangements to your requirements by choosing from our optional extras.

This traditional funeral service includes the transfer of the person who has died from the place of death to our premises, professional fees, care of the person who has died until the funeral, use of visitation rooms, cortege via a local address and provision of bearers for the funeral service.

Douch Chapel Exclusive

DOUCH CHAPEL EXCLUSIVE

AVAILABLE AT CORFE MULLEN, BLANDFORD, PARKSTONE
This funeral package includes the provision of the funeral directors’ services, where our highly-trained staff will attend to all of the necessary arrangements including transfer and care of the person who has died. This funeral service also includes the free use of our onsite ceremony rooms in Parkstone, Blandford or Corfe Mullen.

It is assumed that the family and mourners will meet in our ceremony room for the funeral service. *Following the service we will transport the coffin in a suitable vehicle to the Crematorium for a Direct Cremation with no family or mourners in attendance.

**This fee also applies if date of funeral more than 10 days after receiving the person who has died into our care.

Unattended Funeral

UNATTENDED DIRECT CREMATION

AVAILABLE AT ALL LOCATIONS
The Unattended Direct Cremation funeral package is a modern and cost-effective alternative to the traditional funeral package. Our funeral directors will carry out your wishes for a direct funeral service to ensure your loved one is given a dignified and respectful funeral.
  • The transfer of the person who has died from their place of death (within a 20 mile radius) to our premises during normal office hours (add £140 if transfer takes place outside of normal office hours)
  • Caring for the person who has died until the Direct Cremation
  • Supplying of a simple coffin suitable for Direct Cremation
  • Attending to the necessary arrangements suitable for a Direct Cremation and administering paperwork
  • Conveyance of the coffin to the crematorium in a suitable vehicle
  • Supplying necessary staff at the Crematorium to move the coffin on a bier

The Unattended Direct Cremation has the following stipulations attached:

The Funeral Directors Fees and Disbursements payable in full before the day of the funeral. (The Funeral Invoice may be paid by credit/debit card or cash. Cheques are acceptable however 3 clear working days will be needed for the Cheque to clear before the day of the funeral)

The Unattended Direct Cremation has no funeral ceremony, with no mourners or family attending. A suitable vehicle to convey the deceased to the most local crematorium at a date and time amenable to the Funeral Director.

Whilst making the funeral arrangements, your Funeral Director will inform you of the Disbursements required i.e. Cremation and Doctor’s Fees

The price is based upon the cremated remains being dispersed in the Gardens of Remembrance in the Crematorium grounds, or collected directly by the client within 28 days of the funeral service. Other arrangements can be made at additional cost.

Burials are available and priced on request.

NB: If a horse drawn or other specialist hearse is requested, we will also provide our motor hearse as outlined above, to convey the floral tributes and to accompany the cortege.

Our services are provided free of charge for children who have not reached the age of 16 years, excluding disbursements and any additional expenses.
