It was such a shock to hear of the death of such a decent man. I worked with Martin on Traffic for many years, as a PC and as a supervisor. It was a privilege to know and work with Martin. He was a lovely chap, kind, thoughtful and a pleasure to know. At work he was thoroughly professional, dedicated, knowledgeable and reliable. I well remember the many valuable chats I had with him in the Traffic office at Blandford, one of which led to what is truly one of my life’s highlights, an off duty day out in the Land Rovers of Martin and Ashley Farman touring the tracks and lanes of the Purbecks on a beautiful day.
I will always remember Martin fondly… but his jokes were terrible.
Please accept my deepest condolences.
Marty, I can’t believe I won’t see you again life can be so cruel. I have so many fond memories and humorous anecdotes from the time we worked closely together on Traffic. You were a great guy to have on the team, hardworking conscientious, thorough and ultimately professional. As an Instructor you even achieved the impossible by making First Aid Training interesting! I will cherish these memories until we meet again, my friend, rest easy you’re now off duty. I’m sure you’re now reunited with members of your family and of course your beloved Oscar! I wish I’d had a fiver for every time you told me, “Sarge at Blandford Traffic we like to work hard and play hard! “ fantastic times. RIP Marty. Best wishes Dave Stroud
Dear Aunty Pat, Andrew and all the family.
We just want you to know we are all thinking of you and sending love and hugs.
Martin’s unexpected early passing is a big loss to the family and we are grieving with you at this very sad time.
Martin was a lovely kind decent and helpful person. We are so very sorry that we will never see him again in this life. His untimely death was a terrific shock to us all. We send our love to you all at this distressing time.
Marty I loved you as a brother. Your smiling face and gentle nature will be missed by all who had the pleasure of being in your company. The world is just that bit darker without you bud. Until we meet again.
Pat, Andrew and everyone.
I was shocked to hear this. Martin is the same age as me, so quite hard to understand.
Wish you all the best.
