Love and best wishes to all the family at this time xx
Thinking of you all at this sad time and sorry we can’t be with you. With love from all your NZ family xxx
Will be thinking of you all at this sad time but I also have such happy memories and much laughter generated by Richard during his visits to our family in Singapore and for many years after. Take care xx
My thoughts are with Jennifer and family at the loss of your father, who was such a lovely man.
I am so grateful for the time I spent with (my Uncle) Richard, on my visit home last September. It was such a pleasure to talk about our lives and memories and to make each other laugh again.
He was a much loved presence in my life from my early years. My parents tell me he taught me to knit when I was a small girl, an example of his love and kindness. We have also shared many laughs over the years and perhaps one of the funniest was when he and Marie came to visit us in Australia and we played cricket in the back garden using a witches broom in lieu of a bat. Only Richard could make that look elegant.
Fly away now Richard and know that we will always miss you,
With love to all

The Old Men Admiring Themselves in the Water
I heard the old,old men say,
“Everything alters
And one by one we drop away.”
They had hands like claws, and their knees
Were like the old thorn-trees
By the waters.
I heard the old,old men say,
“All that’s beautiful drifts away
Like the waters,”
W.B. Yeats
A fond farewell Richard. Our treasured memories are of the many good times we shared over the years, and of a kind and decent man. Our hearts go out to Robert, Jennifer and the grandchildren.
