  1. Thank you Stan for welcoming me as part of your family. I have many fond memories of our days out and times spent together. You entertained us many times with stories of your life. No walk through Corfe Castle was complete without the your memories of the German plane shot down over the fields. Every car ride contained stories of the numerous places we passed which you had decorated. You gifted me some of the skills of your decorating which I have put to good use. Thanks for finding my shoes on my wedding day to Teresa otherwise I would have been married barefoot!! I will always remember you with great love and affection. Rest in Peace.

  2. Stan, thank you for the memories I hold of you and Margaret, we had some lovely walks in the Purbecks, especially Tyneham. Unfortunately we didn’t manage that last meeting there. Your great expertise in turning an imperfect stick in to a fantastic walking stick and your love of clocks will all be sadly missed. In my younger days you helped me through some hard times by just being there and being someone to chat to. I am so pleased to have been a small part of your life and enjoyed your many stories. May you now rest in peace with your beloved Margaret.

  3. I’m prouder than i can say, of the man, the myth, the legend, Stan Burgess (Budgie), my Dad and best friend. Accomplished in everything you did, although always too humble to see it. A great story teller, personality, sense of humour, smiles and laughter in buckets. Such a character is hard to lose. Except, we will never really lose you, or you us. Your memories will live on forever in our hearts and all the stories of your life and adventures, passed down through the generations. I know all your family and friends, near and far, will be thinking about you on Thursday and feeling the love as they quietly reminisce their own fond thoughts of you. I will always remember that ” old cheeky grin”, so unique to you Dad, and those sparkly blue eyes. But will cherish our many years together, through thick and thin. So long Dad and thanks for everything xx

  4. My fondest memory of Stan is us all on Studland beach , Paula & Sweep , me & Billy and George as just a little toddler , we had dragged you miles , all around the nature reserve , Little Sea , jumping across bogs just to get back to the main beach , I never thought of you as old , you just did it with that mischievous twinkle in your eye , and without complaint , but you must have been in your seventies then , you played for hours with George , drawing pictures in the sand and of course there was hot chocolate and cake involved !! And when we got home I’ll never forget George asking you if you’d like to come to his house to play Thunderbirds !! That’s how much he thought of you , he wouldn’t share his Thunderbirds with just anyone ! Stan you were one of a kind , and we will miss you dearly , sleep tight Bec , Marsh, Will & George xxxx

  5. Stan was a very friendly, kind and gentle man. We were amazed at how active he was cycling and walking in his later years.
It was always a pleasure to spend time in his company at family gatherings. He will be sadly missed by us and all who knew him. We will all be thinking of him and all the family on Thursday.

Sylvia, Trevor, and Adele and all the wider Lee and Green families.
